GARNELEN4YOU® Planty Sticks | Plant-based main food
GARNELEN4YOU® Planty Sticks are a premium plant-based supplementary food for Neocaridina and Caridina shrimp, crayfish and aquarium snails.
The formulation combines nettle, barley grass, dandelion, ribwort plantain, spinach, mulberry leaves, peppermint, sea algae, chlorella, Hokkaido pumpkin, spirulina, rosemary, carrot and walnut leaves. Together, these natural ingredients provide plant protein, fibre, carotenoids, trace elements and naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and secondary plant compounds.
Developed by biologist and shrimp breeder Dr. Philipp T. Baumann, Planty Sticks are intended as the plant-rich part of a varied feeding routine. They contain no fish meal, grain meal or added chemical ingredients, and the sticks remain stable long enough for shrimp to graze without breaking down too quickly.
Suitable for regular rotation with Carny Sticks for Caridina and Neocaridina, and with Neo Algae Sticks for Neocaridina.
Feeding guide: Feed approximately 1 cm of stick every 1–2 days for around 20 adult shrimp. Adjust the portion to the number and size of the animals, and feed only what can be consumed within a few hours.
Pack size: 30 g
Analytical constituents: 16.5% crude protein, 3.1% crude fat, 12.7% crude ash and 14.1% crude fibre.
Made in Germany, supplied in a resealable protective pouch and packed in cooperation with workshops for people with disabilities.

More Information
GARNELEN4YOU® Planty Sticks are a carefully developed plant-based main food suitable for both Neocaridina and Caridina shrimp.
Created by biologist Dr. Philipp Baumann, the Planty Sticks form part of GARNELEN4YOU’s modular feeding system. Rather than relying on one general-purpose food, this system allows shrimp keepers to alternate between different nutritional profiles according to the needs of their animals.
Planty Sticks provide the plant-based component of the routine and can be fed alongside Carny Sticks. For Neocaridina shrimp, the feeding plan can also be supplemented with Neo Algae Sticks. This makes it easier to offer a varied diet while adjusting the balance between plant and animal-derived ingredients.
The sticks are suitable as a regular main food for:
Neocaridina shrimp
Caridina shrimp
Mixed shrimp colonies
Aquariums containing juvenile and adult shrimp
Tanks where a balanced, plant-focused food is required
Their stick format allows several shrimp to feed from the same portion and encourages natural grazing behaviour. The food remains stable in the aquarium, giving shrimp time to feed without it immediately breaking apart.
For approximately 20 adult shrimp measuring around 2–3 cm, feed about 1 cm of stick every 1–2 days. Smaller portions may be used for smaller colonies or fed more frequently. Feed only what the shrimp can consume within a reasonable period, and remove any remaining food after two days at the latest.
A simple feeding rotation for Neocaridina shrimp may alternate Planty Sticks with Carny Sticks and Neo Algae Sticks. For Caridina shrimp, Planty Sticks may be alternated primarily with Carny Sticks. Baby Powder can be added separately when young shrimp are present, while Mineral Sticks can be used where mineral demand is higher or where the aquarium contains a large snail population.
Occasional single-ingredient foods such as nettle, dandelion, spinach, walnut leaf, ribwort plantain, barley grass, mulberry or Hokkaido pumpkin can add variety, but they should not completely replace a balanced main food.
We recommend GARNELEN4YOU® Planty Sticks to keepers looking for a dependable, high-quality plant-based staple that can be adapted to different shrimp species, stocking levels and feeding routines.
