GARNELEN4YOU® Nettle Sticks

A simple, natural shrimp favourite

GARNELEN4YOU® Nettle Sticks are a pure plant-based single feed made from 100% nettle.

Nettle has long been popular among shrimp keepers because it combines strong acceptance with a broad range of naturally occurring nutrients. The sticks are suitable for Neocaridina and Caridina shrimp, as well as crayfish and aquarium snails, and are intended to add variety alongside a balanced main-food routine.

Naturally rich in useful nutrients

Nettle naturally provides:

• plant protein;

• fibre;

• vitamins B, C and K;

• calcium and magnesium;

• iron and zinc;

• flavonoids and other secondary plant compounds.

This nutritional profile can support healthy growth, shell formation, digestion, immune function and overall condition. Calcium and magnesium are particularly relevant to normal exoskeleton development, while fibre and plant compounds contribute to a varied plant-based diet.

100% nettle, with nothing unnecessary added

The formulation contains only nettle.

There is no fish meal, cereal filler, preservative or unnecessary chemical additive. This makes the product suitable for keepers who want a straightforward, single-ingredient food with a clear composition.

Designed for natural grazing

The sticks soften at a controlled rate rather than disintegrating immediately. This allows several shrimp to gather around the same portion and graze naturally over time.

Their texture also makes portioning easier than loose dried leaves or powder. As with any food, offer only an appropriate amount and avoid repeatedly adding more while food remains in the aquarium.

How to use Nettle Sticks

Feed approximately 1 cm of stick for every 20 adult shrimp every 1–2 days, alternating with other suitable GARNELEN4YOU® foods.

Nettle Sticks may occasionally be offered instead of one of the regular main feeds in the same approximate dosage. However, they are a complementary single feed and should not permanently replace Carny Sticks, Planty Sticks or the wider GARNELEN4YOU® main-food system.

Adjust the portion according to:

• colony size;

• shrimp size;

• natural biofilm availability;

• the presence of snails;

• how quickly the previous portion was consumed.

Feed only as much as the animals can consume within a reasonable period.
