A naturally colourful pumpkin snack

GARNELEN4YOU® Hokkaido Chips are a pure single-ingredient complementary food made entirely from gently dried Hokkaido pumpkin.

Hokkaido pumpkin is highly accepted by shrimp and snails and provides a naturally nutrient-rich addition to a varied feeding routine. The chips are suitable for Neocaridina and Caridina shrimp, crayfish and aquarium snails.

The product forms part of the GARNELEN4YOU® feeding range developed by biologist and shrimp breeder Dr. Philipp T. Baumann.

Rich in carotenoids and micronutrients

Hokkaido pumpkin naturally provides:

• carotenoids;

• vitamin C;

• B vitamins;

• antioxidants;

• magnesium;

• calcium;

• potassium;

• trace elements.

Its carotenoid content makes it particularly useful as an occasional food for supporting vivid natural colouration. The wider combination of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants contributes to general vitality and condition as part of a balanced diet.

100% Hokkaido pumpkin

The chips contain only gently dried Hokkaido pumpkin.

There is no fish meal, cereal filler, preservative or unnecessary chemical additive. The pumpkin is sourced from controlled cultivation without pesticides, giving keepers a clear and straightforward single-ingredient food.

A carefully controlled carbohydrate source

Hokkaido Chips are the only product within GARNELEN4YOU®’s plant-based single-feed concept with a meaningful carbohydrate content.

At the same time, Hokkaido pumpkin has a comparatively low sugar content. The chip format also disperses less material through the aquarium than a pressed stick. According to the manufacturer, this combination helps reduce the risk of rapidly increasing microbial concentrations in the aquarium water.

Easy to portion

The dried chips can be broken into smaller pieces according to the number of shrimp in the aquarium.

This makes them suitable for both small colonies and larger community tanks. Several shrimp and snails can graze from the same piece as it gradually softens.

Because Hokkaido pumpkin is more carbohydrate-rich than the other GARNELEN4YOU® single feeds, conservative portions are particularly important.

Feeding recommendation

Offer one small chip for approximately 20 adult shrimp every 1–2 weeks.

Feed Hokkaido Chips in rotation with the other GARNELEN4YOU® main and complementary foods. Break larger chips into smaller pieces where required.

Only offer as much as the animals can consume within 1–2 days. Any remaining food should be removed after that time.

Hokkaido Chips add variety but should not permanently replace Carny Sticks, Planty Sticks or the appropriate GARNELEN4YOU® main-food rotation.
