A natural plant-based snack for shrimp

GARNELEN4YOU® Dandelion Sticks are a single-ingredient complementary food made exclusively from pure dandelion.

Dandelion is a familiar natural food source valued by shrimp keepers for its broad nutritional profile and good acceptance. It offers a simple way to introduce more plant variety into the diet of Neocaridina and Caridina shrimp, crayfish and aquarium snails.

The product is intended as an occasional addition to the GARNELEN4YOU® main-food system rather than as a complete diet on its own.

Naturally rich in plant nutrients

Dandelion naturally provides a range of nutrients and plant compounds, including:

• carotenoids;

• vitamins B, C, E and K;

• magnesium, calcium and potassium;

• trace elements;

• antioxidants;

• fibre;

• plant protein;

• humic substances;

• tannins;

• terpenoids;

• flavonoids and sterols.

This combination makes dandelion a useful addition to a varied feeding routine. The manufacturer particularly highlights its potential to support strong colouration and normal immune function.

Pure dandelion without unnecessary additions

The sticks contain 100% dandelion and are gently processed.

They contain no fish meal, fillers, preservatives or other unnecessary chemical additives. This gives keepers a clear, straightforward ingredient list and makes the food suitable for those who prefer simple single-plant products.

Easy to portion and suitable for grazing

The stick format is easier to portion than loose dried plant material. Once placed in the aquarium, the sticks gradually soften so multiple shrimp and snails can feed from the same piece.

This encourages natural grazing behaviour while allowing the keeper to monitor how much food has been offered.

Feeding recommendation

Offer Dandelion Sticks occasionally between regular meals or use them in place of one main feeding at the same approximate dosage.

As a general guide, feed around 1 cm of stick for every 20 adult shrimp. Adjust the amount according to:

• the number and size of shrimp;

• the amount of natural biofilm available;

• the presence of snails;

• how quickly the food is consumed.

Feed only what the animals are likely to consume and avoid adding more while food remains in the tank.

GARNELEN4YOU® single feeds are intended to increase dietary variety. They should not permanently replace Carny Sticks, Planty Sticks or the appropriate main-food rotation.
